Spontaneous, courageous, and sometimes unrealistic, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Aries characteristics apply to those who are like lambs, also born at this time of year. They include a mixture of playfulness and bravery, openness and dependency.
The zodiac sign of Aries covers people born between March 21 and April 19. However, as usual, we like to take into account the unique personalities of those born on the cusp. In this case the Pisces-Aries cusp which covers the week, March 19 – 24.
The curious balance between the old and the new is present in this group. Those born in this week represent rebirth and new growth. There is a residue of the wisdom of the ancients overlaid by the spontaneity of the new and fresh. The Spring Equinox falls in the middle of this week, thought by some to be the beginning of the wheel of the year. Therefore the energy of renewal is strong in the Pisces-Aries cusp personality. This is carried though, in lessening degrees, each following Aries week.
Despite being the newborns of the zodiac, Pisces-Aries are complex personalities. They demand simplicity and directness from others, but their own characters are difficult to unravel. There are dreamers and do-ers within this group, and so are subject to misunderstanding by friends and colleagues. They often lurch from personal crisis to personal crisis because of this tendency to be misconstrued.
People born this week have minds like quicksilver. They may appear to be lost in their own dreams but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening. They grasp concepts and make decisions so fast it leaves their peers in the dust. Unfortunately, sometimes they act rashly and get into difficulties of their own making. Yet, they infuriate their parents, teachers and fellows by refusing to listen to advice. It’s a wise tactic for anyone attempting to parent or mentor an Aries-Pisces cusper to go along with their wishes in the first instance and then guide them as necessary.
They are usually faithful partners but are subject to temptation and distraction when someone exciting comes along. If their main love interest is willing, an open relationship might suit this couple.
Born in the week March 25 to April 2, Aries 1 retains much of the spirit of the newborn lamb. They are awed, inspired and curious about their environment and all within it. They enjoy making new discoveries, absorbing each new experience as they did when a child. They never lose that sense of wonderment.
Parents of Aries 1 are challenged by their offspring’s wish to exhibit their independence and, at the same time, they require invisible, unspoken emotional support. Aries 1 will never ask for, or admit to needing comfort, so parents have to tread a fine line in order to provide it.
Aries 1 also find reassurance in their own company and enjoy occasional periods of withdrawal in order to recharge their emotional batteries. Aries 1 teens and young adults must beware of sinking into depression. There should be strategies in place so their need for solitude is accommodated, but also are encouraged and motivated to rejoin the world in due course.
Aries 1 do best with a partner who has an independent life of their own, thus bestowing a great deal of freedom on both parties. Consequently, delaying family life until they have reached a stable level of maturity is always a good idea for all concerned, especially children of the relationship.
Anyone born in this week, April 3 – 10, is a natural center of attraction. Although, being the focus of attention is not as rewarding for Aries 1 as they expect it to be. They can remain oddly detached. Aries 2 must be careful of falling foul of their own sense of superiority. They will find satisfaction in putting aside this desire for admiration and focusing on a cause or project.
Aries 2 are possibly the least empathic sector of society simply because they don’t view the ‘inner being’ as being important. Those who do recognize the value of spiritual development are amply rewarded.
Achieving goals is very high on their list of priorities and, when they are in full on action mode, no-one will get in their way. They know what they want and single-mindedly set out to get it. Their courage and tenacity know no bounds, unfortunately these admirable qualities are sometimes offset by their irritability and tendency to lose their temper. People who can work with them, sharing their vision and who are able to put in similar effort, will find the results rewarding.
Aries 2 put such extreme demands on their personal relationships that it requires someone with plenty of determination to stand steady beside them. Their partners have to be accommodating, patient, understanding and emotionally ironclad in order to keep the relationship anchored.
People born during the week April 11 – 18 are inclined toward group activities and social expression. They understand the value of cooperation and collaboration, more so than the previous Aries sectors.. Aries 3 are more likely to interact on an equal basis as they have nothing to prove. Like other Aries, they are just as courageous and goal oriented, but they know they can achieve more with the help of other people. However, problems do occur when they have to share space with a similar strong personality.
Dominant as they are, Aries 3 has a deep-seated good nature which is sometimes taken advantage of by those with few scruples. Care must be taken to construct self-protective boundaries. Aries 3 personalities prefer to be surrounded by friends and family and can seem oddly uncomfortable in a one-to-one situation.
Partners of Aries 3 must be independent and self-reliant because their spouses are usually off saving the world. Aries 3 people should not take their families, friends and lovers for granted otherwise, they may find themselves alone in later life. Conversely some Aries 3 take it too far in the other direction and think they have to protect and restrict their loved ones to an extreme degree.
Being the partner of an Aries 3 does bring other benefits. They are honest and straightforward, helpful, accommodating, loyal and honorable – they are also great fun.
