Aries is active, temperamental and full of enthusiasm. People born under this sign are spontaneous, dynamic and charismatic. How does Aries deal with matters of the heart? Do they go all mushy when romance is in the air? Or do they invite their new love on a camping trip? This week we’re taking a look at Aries: love and relationships. As usual we’ll begin with the cusp of Pisces-Aries.
Pisces-Aries Cusp March 19-24
People born at this time suffer a mix of Aries directness underpinned by the shifting sands of Pisces emotions. They tend to think of themselves as relatively uncomplicated people, but others see the opposite: Pisces-Aries appears as a complex, layered personality. Their surface directness cannot hide the fact that their emotions may show a different motive which is clearly visible to others. This is why they get caught up in all kinds of disputes and disagreements.
Partners of Pisces-Aries learn that it’s always best to work with what they see and not to question those underlying emotions too deeply. It’s almost as though they are two separate entities. You can try to make them see that what they say is not the same as what they, very obviously feel, but it’s hard work. The way to get along with them is to take their words at face value.
Pisces-Aries is passionate and emotional in matters of love. They make faithful lovers – mostly. Some are tempted by the idea of a fling in order to further express that deep passion. They do need excitement at home in order to prevent them wandering off in search of seduction and fantasy.
As they mature, they begin to wear the cloak of personal responsibility with ease. Thus it’s possible that they will find deep and lasting love a little later than their peers.
Aries 1 March 25-April 2
Aries 1’s adventurous spirit begins to manifest at an early age and this continues into adulthood after passing through a batch of stormy teen aged years. Their tendency to burst into a temper tantrum or rush out of the room makes others wary of them, so it is only the most tenacious who stay around to try to build a relationship.
Those who do manage to survive, ignore, then understand Aries 1’s emotions will find an altogether different person to love. You have to be willing to allow Aries plenty of freedom to express their complicated feelings. You have to be pragmatic, not easily upset and be prepared to put those outbursts of anger in the past. They don’t mean anything much, they are simply a means for Aries one to express pent-up feelings. Once the storm has passed, it is gone for good. If you want to keep the relationship going you will need to develop a certain sensitivity in knowing when to back off and avoid confrontation.
It’s a good idea for the partners of Aries 1 to have an independent life of their own, otherwise they will end up as the lesser team mate rather than an equal participant in the relationship. Generally Aries 1 will remain faithful unless they feel unsupported. Then they will look for the missing element and replace it with the excitement of an affair. Aries 1 is rarely apologetic for indiscretions; they view it as part of their refusal to live a conventional lifestyle.
Aries 2 April 3-10
Aries 2 thrives on attention. They enjoy being in a gathering of people and especially enjoy admiration. However, they are not as self-centered as they might seem. Their need for company balances out the feeling of being alone, even in a crowd. Consequently, in matters of love, mutual dependency drives them. They love to be part of a duo, facing the world together. They love to be needed.
Being in a relationship with an Aries 2 is almost like a full-time occupation. The relationship becomes its own entity, with emotions, needs, and dramas to be nurtured, fed and soothed. The partners of Aries 2 have to be counselors and companions first, lovers second. This means that some of Aries 2’s relationships are short-lived as it is rare to find someone who is willing to take on the role full-time ad infinitum.
Those who can find the spirit, patience, tolerance, and energy to hang in there will find that, as Aries 2 matures, a deep, mutual friendship develops that is even more rewarding than the initial attraction and passion.
Aries 3 April 11-18
Like Aries 2, these people also enjoy being part of a group or movement. However, they are not quite so dependent upon the admiration of others. They find it hard to be second-in-command in any situation. Thus they always shoot for the leading role. And are good at it. What softens this ambition is their innate desire to do good in the world.
Partners and family need to understand Aries 3’s perception that they see their way as the only way. This can lead to awful confrontation when others disagree. It helps to understand that it is Aries 3’s way of expressing love and protection.
Their high degree of intelligence means that they are able to dismantle any opposing viewpoints. Of course, this also means that their partner has to subsume their will to them, which is what Aries 3 demands. Often, their partners will stick it for a few years before throwing in the towel and leaving. It takes someone with a deep-rooted sense of self to be able to withstand the force that is Aries 3.
