You’ll know a Gemini when you see one by the rapid-fire questions, multiple subject changes, and few answers featuring in their conversation, and by the pile of half-read books in their arms or at their bedside. The traditional ruling planet of Gemini is Mercury, and that association brings everything the name implies, from a quick wit to an ever-changing nature.
Those born under the sign of the Twins are all about gathering information from many sources, much more so than sharing, transferring, or interpreting information. For this reason, Geminis are not as prone to gossiping or sharing confidences as the more public signs of Sagittarius or Leo, or butting into matters that don’t concern them like a Aquarius or Virgo might. Overall, this sign can be more trustworthy with others’ secrets than their dualistic symbolism implies.
Geminis often have what we think of as a “secret life” or “hidden side”, but these aren’t necessarily sinister in nature. A Gemini who also happens to be an all-around nasty person might be deceitful or turn cruel behind closed doors, but neutral or pleasant traits are just as likely. Imagine, for example, a distinguished lecturer who enjoys watching reruns of the Three Stooges on his down time, or a professional athlete who pens complex, heartfelt sonnets when she’s not at a match or practice. The common thread is that these are all very different from the individual’s public presentation and add an unexpected new facet to our understanding of her or him.
Geminis may seem disloyal and perhaps do not put as high a priority on loyalty as one should, but this is usually because their focus is on completely understanding– not necessarily justifying or siding with– many points of view.
