Capricorn deals with relationships in the same way as most other aspects of their lives—with common sense and feet on the ground. Usually. Yet there is a lot more to this down-to-earth sign than meets the eye. Still waters run deep and all that. Delve into Capricorn: love and relationships to discover more about the passionate goat.
As usual, we begin with the cusp:
Sagittarius—Capricorn Cusp December 19-25
People born in this week are a curious mix. Their ruling planets, Jupiter and Saturn are personality opposites: fiery Jupiter pushing/pulling against cool, earthy Saturn. Consequently, when it comes to love, cuspers find themselves torn, or in two minds, or at the mercy of conflicting emotions.
Individuals that make up this group are quite self-contained, and therefore don’t need to seek the approval of others. This means that they feel free when choosing partners. It takes a little work to get close to a Sagittarian-Capricorn in the first place, as they are quite protective of their inner circle. An inner-circle which may only contain one or two close friends. Be aware that Sagittarian-Capricorn does not take well to criticism, they believe that people should accept them as they are, flaws and all. If you can do that, you may stand a chance of breaching their inner defenses.
Once Sagittarian-Capricorn has allowed a lover into their life, their passions are unleashed. Their earthy nature reveals a romantic, sexy, adventurous partner. Some people are able to bring the best in these cuspers by displaying appreciation for their looks and accomplishments. It must be genuine admiration though—any attempts to flatter for effect are instantly recognized and ignored. Too much of it and the relationship will come to a halt.
Capricorn 1 December 26—January 2
The basis of any relationship, romantic, friendship or familial, with Capricorn 1 must be based on honesty. If Cappie 1 cannot trust you, you will be forever pushed to the outer limits of their circle. There’s nothing that Capricorn 1 detests more than a liar. Second to that is anyone who flatters themselves. Capricorn 1 cannot warm to self-aggrandizement, although they have been known to indulge in it themselves.
Capricorn 1 admires hard work and tenacity in others. They enjoy some silly fun, yet tend to set limits on leisure time. For them, real life is in Getting Things Done. When it comes to expressing themselves, emotionally, don’t expect Capricorn 1 to oblige. It’s not something they are happy about sharing. That’s not to say they don’t experience emotion, love, and empathy, it’s that they keep it inside most of the time. If Capricorn 1 does get emotional, the floodgates will open. Lovers of Capricorn 1 provide a conduit and a means of expressing their feelings. Therefore, know that providing a safe space for them is really important. Never, ever throw their feelings back in their face at a later time. All trust will be lost.
Once a relationship is established and founded on trust, love will follow. Capricorn 1s are extremely affectionate and relaxed when they feel the other person has their best interests at heart. And they are very happy to provide the same level of protection and intimacy to their lover.
Capricorn 2 January 3-9
Capricorns are the workers of the Zodiac, yet Capricorn 2 has a wider range of interests. They are the thinkers, the ‘what-if-ers’. They allow their thoughts and ideas complete freedom, especially in the areas of metaphysics and philosophy. Thus they appreciate others who also have the capacity to challenge their thinking and to add to their knowledge.
Capricorn 2s are much more sensitive than their goaty brethren. And they are hyper-sensitive to criticism, taking it like an arrow to the heart. Yet they themselves are quite capable of deviousness if they believe circumstances and the end result demands it. They will take advantage of any signs of weakness, whether in the boardroom or a domestic dispute.
People born in this week do better with partners than on their own. However, the individuals in the relationship must be autonomous. Capricorn 2 dislikes the idea of being tied to someone. They need freedom to put their work first, and prefer a partner who does the same. That doesn’t mean that the relationship takes second place. For Capricorn 2, having the capacity to work and earn enables their family life to flourish. Capricorn 2 believes that marriage and family are the foundation upon which life depends and will strive, tooth and nail, to hold it together under any circumstances.
Partners of Capricorn 2 need to accept them and their devotion to work, structure and organization. Yet if they are able to persuade them to let down their guard and express themselves, a deep and lasting relationship built on friendship and love will ensue.
Capricorn 3 January 10-16
People born in this week may have trouble in their youth because of a lurking inferiority complex. Once they reach maturity and overcome their feeling of unworthiness, they gain in confidence and self-respect. In relationships, Capricorn 3, do best when they learn and understand that they can take people as they are without attempting to impose their will and expectations upon them.
Somewhat eccentric, Capricorn 3 has a wicked sense of humor and the ability not to take themselves seriously—a very atypical Capricorn trait. Also, unlike, other Capricorns they are far more social and thus able to form relationships more easily. They still have the underlying need to focus on work and career. They enjoy a challenge, and overcoming obstacles and solving problems gives them the greatest thrill.
Other people find that Capricorn 3 is charismatic and attractive, both in demeanor and mannerisms. They can be quite shocking and outrageous at times. Yet they still keep their feelings to themselves. The best lover for Capricorn 3 is someone who is lively and outgoing. As they have that Capricorn streak of melancholy, having a partner to cheer them up makes a big difference. Of course, that necessary relationship trust is key in allowing Capricorn 3 to set aside their work concerns, let their hair down and have some fun.
