The zodiac sign of Libra is one of the most interesting… and the most subtle. People born between September 19th and October 18th have that unique combination of Libra characteristics that both help and hinder them. Intellectually capable, they constantly seek balance in their lives. When they get out of whack, well they are not happy bunnies…
Virgo – Libra Cusp
September 19th to September 24th is the week of the Leo – Virgo cusp. Earth and air make for a pragmatic personality with an eye for beauty. Straddling the Autumn Equinox puts people born in this week partly in summer, partly in fall. They are inspired by nature, yet any disturbance, any jarring note in their view of the landscape can upset their equilibrium. Therefore they are extra sensitive to outside influences. In any situation that doesn’t fit with their vision of the ideal, they will withdraw.
This sensitivity can work in their favor, especially in a working environment. They are able to spot trends, reconstruct and reassemble them in their own unique style, thus making them invaluable in such places as the fashion and retail industries. Their experience also helps them to be excellent communicators and they are likely to be promoted quickly.
Virgo-Libra cuspers are well-liked by their friends – they are lively and inspiring so are welcomed into any circle. They must beware their tendencies toward alcoholism or other addictions – that out-of-balance feeling can push them into destructive behaviors. They can go the other way and become quite snobbish and out of reach. Watch out for those feelings of superiority. People born in this week are not greatly drawn to the physical aspects of love. Their priority is to find someone that can offer them the stability they need to function well. They enjoy deep, but platonic relationships.
September 25th to October 2nd brings forth people who are pulled in two directions. They are drawn to being in the limelight, but at the same time they have an overwhelming need for solitude. Learning how to reconcile these different needs is a lifetime’s work for Libra 1s. It is not unusual for a Libra 1 to set off, all shiny and new on a career in the public eye, but then later in life experience a ‘priority reset’ and withdraw to follow more solitary pursuits.
Libra 1s will also have to fight their yearnings for perfectionism. It is the one thing that can prevent them making the most of their abilities. They will turn away from a project if they can’t find a way to make it ‘right’. Having said that, they are great fixers and will try to repair both physical objects and problematical situations whenever they can. They sometimes have the irritating trait of thinking they are always right.
People born in this week will always over-achieve rather than fall short. They set themselves incredibly difficult personal standards and not reaching them, will cause great despair. However, they are unlikely to show their disappointment, or indeed any emotion. Even though their feelings are bubbling away like a pressure cooker, to the outside world they are able to maintain a calm and even serene appearance. This inability to share their feelings makes maintaining a personal relationship quite difficult. Their partners need to understand that Libra 1s aren’t intentionally this way, it’s just how they are. They will also have to deal with Libra 1’s scathing wit and know not to take it personally.
October 3rd to October 10th is the week of a more social Libra. That doesn’t mean that they want other people around them constantly – they still enjoy, and need, that time alone. Libra 2s, like all Librans, have exquisite taste in fashion and lifestyle. Their choices are respected and followed slavishly. Therefore, Libra 2s are always trying to stay ahead of the game and will even double back to a previous trend if it suits them.
Libra 2s are very good communicators and make excellent counselors. Their gentle manner inspires trust, and people generally find them to be non-threatening. Yet their excellent observation and well-developed verbal skills can make them formidable debating adversaries. They must beware of being over-critical with colleagues, friends and family. They may be right but they need to learn how to deliver the message more sensitively.
Emotional stability is what Libra 2s crave more than anything else. Unfortunately they don’t seem able to deal with anything outside their accepted range. Some are able to channel their disquiet into social reform, whereas others become increasingly frustrated by injustice and unfairness. Their route to peace is along a spiritual path – they simply need to recognize this and take the first step. In personal relationships, Libra 2 will usually blame themselves if things don’t work out right.
October 11th to October the 18th is the week of Libra 3. This group are consummate actors and understand that image is everything in professional life. Therefore, they hone and fine tune themselves to be the star turn, whether in the corporate world or any other arena. They are able to focus on a single career path and develop it until it is their own. Libra 2s understand that becoming an expert in their chosen field is the way to success. Their leadership skills are without doubt – they just have to watch that tendency to always know best. Sometimes a little humility goes a long way.
Personal relationships are problematical because Libra 3 is not that interested in how other people tick. They can be charming and easy going but when things get messy, they will turn away and let their partners clear up the fallout. They really don’t want the emotional involvement. Libra 3s place great importance on outer appearance and actions, yet they are not interested in knowing another’s emotional motivations.
Libra 3s don’t do well when having to take responsibility for others. They can feel trapped and uncomfortable. They can’t be pressured to ‘do the right thing’; they must come to that realization themselves. Families are good environments for Libra 3s, however occasionally, Libra 3s are not good for families.
