Dreamy, artistic, sensitive – these are well-known Pisces characteristics. Yet there are many nuances and layers to Pisces. Dive into their watery world and discover what makes them unique.
Pisces covers the month February 19 to March 20. The sign is ruled by the element of water and the planet, Neptune. As usual, we’re breaking up the Pisces zodiac sign into birth weeks, beginning with the overlap between Aquarius and Pisces. To read about the Pisces-Aries cusp, you’ll have to return next month.
People born between February 16 and 22 are always working to reconcile the extremes of their nature. There is an underlying drive within which pushes them to prove themselves. Whether it is in their working life, family life, or friendships, these cuspers feel they have to demonstrate their worth as human beings. This can result in some of them appearing resentful. They need to feel appreciated for who they are, not what they do.
This attitude often stems from being criticized as children and young adults. They build up barriers of protection, and it takes a determined soul to break through those walls. If you manage it, you’ll discover an extremely gentle, sensitive, and possibly tormented, inner core.
Aquarius-Pisces cusp personalities may veer towards the pursuit of idealistic outcomes in such arenas as politics, social work, or community involvement. Or they may be attracted to inner work, such as philosophy, art or other abstract activities.
In relationships, Aquarius-Pisces may have a hard time unless their partners can encourage them to open up and share their emotions. This is difficult for Aquarius-Pisces because they are fearful of rejection and being hurt. They will often present a facade which can easily be mistaken as genuine. Revealing their true self is Aquarius-Pisces’ biggest life challenge – and it may never happen.
Spirituality and sensuality are the two main forces at work in people born during the period February 23 – March 2. Their work, in whichever field they choose, must give them spiritual satisfaction. It can be helping people with their finances, or developing property, anything at all that makes them feel as if they are contributing towards the benefit of other people. If they become wealthy in the process, that’s an added bonus, but they don’t usually seek money above other things.
Pisces 1 feels and acknowledges the spiritual component in everything. They may not talk of it in such terms yet it is there for them. In particular they see the maintenance of their health and fitness of their body as a cornerstone of their spirituality. This extends to their love of self-indulgence and fleshly pleasures.
In their relationships with others their empathy and willingness to please may cause problems as they often present mixed messages. They must learn how to say what they mean and not worry about upsetting people. It will cause fewer misunderstandings in the long run.
Personal relationships may be a difficult area for Pisces 1. They are not the best at maintaining long-term partnerships. They are seeking an ideal mate who is the personification of perfection. Unfortunately these paragons are rare, so Pisces 1 continues on the quest for perfect love throughout their life.
Born between March 3 and 10, Pisces 2 tend to live in their inner world. Their own minds and immediate environments are sanctuaries of serenity and tranquility. Anything which disturbs their inner retreat causes stress. Having said that, Pisces 2 are very capable of pursuing rewarding careers, especially if they are able to express their creative side.
Pisces 2s believe in karma. They believe that as one receives, they should give back. That there will always be suffering alongside life’s rewards. This mindset tends to make them trauma magnets, and it is a rare Pisces 2 who hasn’t suffered a major accident or personal loss by mid-life. However, they have an amazing ability to recover from anything that life dishes out to them.
Addictive substances and habits are a weakness for Pisces 2. If they can know this early on in life, they can make choices to avoid this kind of behavior. Many, unfortunately don’t. They use alcohol and opiates as a substitute for that place of inner sanctuary.
Pisces 2 are attracted to beauty, especially in their lovers. This attraction may spillover into infatuation and obsession with the object of their desire. They do best with a partner who is both beautiful and pragmatic enough to keep their feet on the ground. Like Pisces 1, they may leave a trail of divorces and broken relationships behind them.
Within this group of people, born March 11 – 18, is where you’ll find the zodiac’s deepest thinkers. Drawn to the mysteries and intricacies of life, Pisces 3 are visionaries and philosophers. Yet, while immersed in the mesh of universal interconnectedness, they are also very practical and quite down-to-earth.
Their work often revolves around their thoughts, so they are drawn to science and related areas. They may go out on a limb with their theories, but are proved right so frequently, it seems they have a direct line to divine intelligence.
Pisces 3 can come across as eccentric types, the typical mad professor. However, they are ready to respond to their calling, usually in their late twenties to forties. This calling could be anything, but Pisces 3 sees it as their destiny, their one true purpose, and will do all they can to fulfill it.
It’s important for Pisces 3 to feel wanted and needed. Hence they will gather family and friends around them. They are empathic and good listeners so can always be relied upon when support is required. They may choose wildly unsuitable partners but given the right person and the right environment they will remain devoted lovers to the end.
