More Republican Mistakes?

09 Feb

Just when you thought it was safe to go outside we have news of another Republican this seemingly having problems.  Michael Steele who is the new Republican national convention chairman is being investigated somewhat lightly for payments to a apparently defunct company.

At issue is a February 2007 payment of more than $37,000 made by Steele’s unsuccessful Senate campaign to Brown Sugar Unlimited, a company run by Monica Turner, Steele’s sister (and also the former Mrs. Mike Tyson, incidentally).

According to campaign finance records, reports the Post, the payments were for “catering/web services.” But a Steele spokesman told the paper that Turner “did a lot of media stuff” for the campaign. The spokesman then showed the paper an invoice for catering services for two events. But the invoice was dated December 2006, although the events occurred in October 2006 and July 2007. The spokesman attributed this to a typo.

So, was it media, web services, or catering? How many companies do all three?

I would ask the same question, media Web services or catering? Michael Steele has already proven through his comments that he is there to define the Democratic Party and to not promote a system of bipartisanship. I think the guy is just there To act tough and to get in with the idea that in today’s political party you must have a woman and a black man to Be viable. While I do not know Michael Steele’s qualifications for the position it is obvious that his election bring tokenism to a new high. Of course the person who is favored for the position fell out of favor with his Barack the magic Negro recording.

Of course it’s not just Republicans, Tom Daschle and Obama’s pick for the head of the treasury also appear to have problems with taxes. Daschle of course had to step down and withdraw his nomination. This is nothing new as it happened to President Bush as well. As far as I know it’s probably happened every president which indicates to me that it’s possible the tax evasion and money problems are rampant throughout our Congress and throughout government on local levels.

How do you know who is clean and who was dirty? I guess you don’t until one of them tries for a higher office. It seems to me it would be easier to pick someone who does have tax problems than those who don’t. How do these people get away with it with the IRS is all over the common worker? I guess it’s the same way that Madoff got away with is billion-dollar scheme. No one wants to investigate important people. Everyone he claims the rich people pay the most taxes, but I wonder how many of them get away with paying little or no taxes.

Speaking of Republicans, John McCain and problems, we also got word of this gentleman today.

Police arrested the former manager of Sen. John McCain’s Pueblo presidential campaign office Wednesday on charges he sexually assaulted a 5-year-old boy left in his care so the boy’s mother could attend a rally for McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, The Denver Post’s Howard Pankratz reported Thursday afternoon.

It’s the second arrest on charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in position of trust in a week for Jeffrey Claude Bartleson, 52, who has faced similar allegations at least five times since 1982 without being convicted of a crime, according to the Pueblo Chieftain’s Nick Bonham.

Or less one thing that John McCain won’t have to deal with if he had become president. As it is now it’s not really raising any eyebrows Briseno’s toes all the concentration is on how Obama is destroying the country with his stimulus plan. It’s no surprise Republicans don’t want to talk about it.
