Cuba

17 Apr

I want to go on record stating my approval for normalizing relations with Cuba. The advantages are clear in my mind.

First, relations will not be normalized without deep concessions from Cuba. Castro number 2 has allready stated he will discuss anything the US throws on the table. Improvements in the lives of the Cuban people could be forthcoming from these discuassion and the vitality of Cuba itself as an American ally could be greatly enhanced.

What I do not understand is those from the Rights need to bash this initiative. Whats up with that? Are they afraid we will acheive this without having to murder thousands of people and put a few thousand in prison to torture?

Or is it just that they dont want the Obama administration to be successful at something their president had no intention of doing?

Offering a new relationship to Cuba will go a long ways towards refreshing our relations with South America, a territory we are losing to China and relations that the Bush administration for all practical purposes ignored and partially destroyed.  This may alos support the people of Southern America to help us combat terrorists from entering the US and the countrys involved.

Encouraging Cuba to treat its people differently will help end the suffering of those who try to get here and endure dangerous boat rides only to be sent back or killed enroute.  Cuban music is incredible and should be free for the world.

There are no viable reasons why we cannot open our shores to LEGAL Cubans and improve the lives of the Cuban people at a very small cost to us.

Immigration Reform?

15 Apr

What is Immigration Reform?

Immigration Reform is defined as:

The need to allow people who are in this country illegally stay here for the purpose of getting votes for either party. It has nothing to do with the needs, requirements, and wishes of the people of the United States of America. This is strictly political in nature and do something that the people of this country will have no say in.

It doesn’t really matter who is in office. John McCain was all for immigration reform, Obama is all for immigration reform. Bush was all for immigration reform, and all three of them want as many illegals in this country as possible. Why you ask? Read the above paragraph.

And to hell what it will cost us in tax money, right?
