A 5 Spiral Crash

15 Sep
For gods sake STOP IT!

For gods sake STOP RUTTING!

I find this article from the Raw Story very revealing and quite frankly, hilarious.

It was very obvious that the media had picked John McCain to be the front runner for the Republican party. To find out the George W. Bush was uncomfortable about that is surprising. The picture of John McCain hugging George W. Bush and looking like a little piggy still burns in my memory.

According to a new book — excerpts of which are to be published in the next issue of GQ Magazine and detailed Tuesday — former President George W. Bush was incredulous upon learning that Sen. John McCain was having trouble drawing a crowd and called his campaign a “five-spiral crash.”

RAW STORY got a copy of the excerpts Tuesday. The excerpts are from Matt Latimer’s soon-to-be-published book “Speech-Less.”

Bush seemed to feel considerable unease with the choice of McCain as well. I think he liked Romney best. (The rumor was that so did Karl Rove.) My guess was the president hadn’t so easily forgotten the endless slights he’d suffered, but there was little he could do. To him, McCain’s defeat would be a repudiation of the Bush administration, so McCain had to win… I was once in the Oval Office when the president was told a campaign event in Phoenix he was to attend with McCain suddenly had to be closed to the press…

“If he doesn’t want me to go, fine,” the president said. “I’ve got better things to do.”

Eventually, someone informed the president that the reason the event was closed was that McCain was having trouble getting a crowd. Bush was incredulous—and to the point. “He can’t get 500 people to show up for an event in his hometown?” he asked. No one said anything, and we went on to another topic. But the president couldn’t let the matter drop. “He couldn’t get 500 people? I could get that many people to turn out in Crawford.” He shook his head. “This is a five-spiral crash, boys.”

Bush also is quoted as saying Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was “being put into a position she is not even remotely prepared for” after McCain announced her as his vice presidential running mate.

“I’m trying to remember if I’ve met her before. I’m sure I must have.” His eyes twinkled, then he asked, “What is she, the governor of Guam?”

Everyone in the room seemed to look at him in horror, their mouths agape. When Ed told him that conservatives were greeting the choice enthusiastically, he replied, “Look, I’m a team player, I’m on board.” He thought about it for a minute. “She’s interesting,” he said again. “You know, just wait a few days until the bloom is off the rose.” Then he made a very smart assessment.

“This woman is being put into a position she is not even remotely prepared for,” he said. “She hasn’t spent one day on the national level. Neither has her family. Let’s wait and see how she looks five days out.” It was a rare dose of reality in a White House that liked to believe every decision was great, every Republican was a genius, and McCain was the hope of the world because, well, because he chose to be a member of our party.

Investor’s Business Daily Flops Hilariously

10 Aug

An editorial from the above rag seems to indicate that Steven Hawking would have no chnace to live were he in Britian.

People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn’t have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.”

INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY

The fact of the matter is, Stephen Hawking was born in Oxford. He currently teaches at the University of Cambridge. Oxford and Cambridge have something in common: They’re both in England. Which makes this editorial in Investor’s Business Daily unfortunate indeed.

Which leads me wonder why they never put the names of the person writing the editorial in the footnotes. this is just one more example of the lies being spread by people who oppose healthcare reform.

Sarah Palin was recently caught lying about healthcare saying it supports and encourages euthanasia which couldnt be further from the truth.

But what makes me the happiest? The fact that healthcare costs are rising so fast that soon more and more people will be losing their healthcare. And the costs will spiral even higher and the need for public healthcare will be even greater.

Thanks wannabe Republicans. The dems wont have to do a thing.

UPDATE 8/15/2009:  Hawking has since refuted the article stating:

“I wouldn’t be here today if it were not for the NHS,” he told the Guardian. “I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived.”

One of the most brilliant men that has ever lived is far from worthless in any country. Its sad that republicans have to continue lying to run from the fact that we are our brothers keeper. And they also run from the fact that someday the Health Care providers they so aggressively support will turn on them

Sarah Palin, A New Comedy Act?

06 Jul

One has to wonder if Sarah Palin isn’t trying to take over Al Franken’s spot in the comedy world.

She was pretty well out of the public eye by being silent and just doing her job until she popped up and decided to quit her position as governor. At which time and part she blamed the media because it was picking on her.

I cannot and will not question her feelings towards Alaska. Nor will I question her accomplishments as governor of Alaska. And quite frankly as far as I’m concerned what her family does is absolutely no concern of mine. Illegitimate babies, infighting, are all family manners and none of my business.

For her the beginning started when John McCain picked her to be his running mate. Despite the fact that many Republicans groaned, he did it anyways. For him, the need to have a token woman was stronger than his desire to win the election.

Al Franken Or Next President?

Al Franken Or Next President?

Let’s face it this is politics and you at least need someone who’s face is recognizable to run with you. But because of the fact that Hillary Clinton ran he thought he could make political hay with choosing a woman. And as it turned out, just any woman. If that as far as I’m concerned, this showed the weakness of John McCain and his inability to make the right decisions. How could this man ever be president?

She was just about the last person anyone could ever dream of picking. While the Republican Hitler youth went insane over her being appointed second-in-command her total lack of experience and knowledge was constantly exposed. And that is where it started for the press. She was little more than a cartoon character who was an aside to John McCain’s solid portfolio of political history.

Sarah Palin should have known that she was not qualified for this position. If you want to be a politician you have to know when to get past being flattered and being intelligent. It is apparent that she never got past the being flattered part and moved right into being fluttered. She assigned to her self-importance a position that was not deserved. She walked right in to a situation that set her up for where she is today.

Cheney At A Glance

12 May

I am getting a huge laugh over the Cheney backing of Rush Limpbat.

Cheney has the credibility of roadkill.  This is the man behind the presidency who is 50% of the reason that people did not vote Republican in the last election.  This is the man known as Dr. Strangelove in a wheelchair who obviously wears a glove to keep it clean when he had his hand up George Bush’s ass.

Darth Cheney is now accusing Colin Powell of not being a Republican.  The Man who would be kingWhen he was acting president he did everything he could to prove to the American public that under no circumstances will see a conservative or quite frankly a Republican.  This is what happens when a person like Colin Powell, who commands respect due to his history and his accomplishments, speaks his mind without taking the party line.

It appears if you’re in the Republican Party and you don’t take the party line that neither Mr. Cheney or Rush Limbaugh will attack you.  Neither person is a fair assessment of a Republican or a conservative.
