Republican Resistance to Health Care Reform

13 Aug

The sad but true thing about Republican resistance to the “socialism” of health care is that the more they deny we need it, and the more they support the cost of health care to sky rocket, the quicker more and more people will be losing their health care.

What happens when more and more people lose their healthcare and begin using the Emergency rooms that we allready spend billions on?  The greater the need for health care reform.  And not only will we need it more, we will be deeper in a hole for not having it to start with.

And need for the erroneously so called  “socialism” they so desperately run from will be greater and more costly

The “I have my healthcare and I dont care about anyone else” routine is wrong.  I talk to several republicans on the yahoo message boards and they all state categorically that they have their insurance and they dont care about others.  And the thought of helping others is absolutely abhorrent to them.  What has happened?  Is this the party of moral obligations or the all for me and fuck you party?

America is like a factory, the military, a doctors office, an engineering firm, a work cell or a firemans group.  You have to depends on everyone else.  if you don’t or cant, then its no longer a country.  Period.

Republican Resistance to Health Care Reform Will Bring health Care Reform that Much Quicker.

From Karl Denninger. Send THIS to Your Congressman

11 Aug

Karl Denninger
I just received one of the famous “fundraising calls” from the RNC.

They were soliciting people to give them money (and tried for slightly over $3k!) to “stop Obama’s Health Care plan that will cost $1 trillion.”

Oh boy did that poor sap get an earful.

I “explained” that:

$1 trillion is a lot of money. $12 trillion is a lot more, and that’s how much the RNC has allowed to be pissed away backstopping and rewarding people who have stolen from the American people through bailouts and handouts, all of which have gone to the very people doing the stealing!
John McCain, to whom I gave a significant campaign donation, returned my favor by suspending his campaign to push through the EESA/TARP, a bill that by 300:1 margins the American People opposed.

If the Republicans are the party of the people why is it that they are allowing these bankers to steal over $30 billion dollars by re-ordering transactions to generate the MAXIMUM in overdraft fees? That’s FRAUD and yet it was under a REPUBLICAN administration that this happened.
The Republicans have for years presented themselves as “conservatives” and the party of “family values.” Why is it that “conservative” doesn’t include calling for EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE SCAMMERS TO BE THROWN IN PRISON and WHY IS IT THAT I KEEP HEARING ABOUT SOME FLOOZY SCANDAL FROM THESE SO-CALLED “FAMILY VALUES” CHAMPIONS?

The ONLY difference between the RNC and DNC is that the DNC tells me up front that the Democrats intend to gang-rape me at the outset. The Republicans claim to intend to protect me, but then after I lower my guard I am violated from behind without warning. This is unacceptable but if I am forced to choose between being warned first and being lied to I’ll take the warning thank you very little.

I made clear to THE RNC that if they want one thin dime from me they can call again when every Republican Senator and Representative masses together on the steps of the Capitol and states in one loud, clear voice for all in America and every TV Network:

We will do no more work nor vote for any other action until each and every one of the banksters, scammers and frauds that destroyed our American economy is under indictment and facing charges for their criminal acts, and the improperly granted bailout funds – all of them – are CLAWED BACK from these frauds to the maximum possible extent.

We will do no more work until the banks are required to process transactions in the order they come in and are PROHIBITED BY LAW from charging “overdraft fees” under any other than an existing, voluntarily-subscribed and OPTED IN overdraft LINE OF CREDIT.

We will do no more work until the scammers currently dumping garbage into the FHA are STOPPED AND PROSECUTED and the FHA program is reworked to require 20% DOWN PAYMENTS, 36% DTI maximums and FULL UNDERWRITING with CRIMINAL PENALTIES for false submissions irrespective of who makes them.

We will pledge to shut our pie holes about “family values” until each and every one of us can keep our penis in our pants, except when used to urinate or have sexual congress with our WIFE or SIGNIFICANT OTHER, and the HYPOCRITES in this regard have RESIGNED – all of them – forthwith.

Investor’s Business Daily Flops Hilariously

10 Aug

An editorial from the above rag seems to indicate that Steven Hawking would have no chnace to live were he in Britian.

People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn’t have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.”

INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY

The fact of the matter is, Stephen Hawking was born in Oxford. He currently teaches at the University of Cambridge. Oxford and Cambridge have something in common: They’re both in England. Which makes this editorial in Investor’s Business Daily unfortunate indeed.

Which leads me wonder why they never put the names of the person writing the editorial in the footnotes. this is just one more example of the lies being spread by people who oppose healthcare reform.

Sarah Palin was recently caught lying about healthcare saying it supports and encourages euthanasia which couldnt be further from the truth.

But what makes me the happiest? The fact that healthcare costs are rising so fast that soon more and more people will be losing their healthcare. And the costs will spiral even higher and the need for public healthcare will be even greater.

Thanks wannabe Republicans. The dems wont have to do a thing.

UPDATE 8/15/2009:  Hawking has since refuted the article stating:

“I wouldn’t be here today if it were not for the NHS,” he told the Guardian. “I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived.”

One of the most brilliant men that has ever lived is far from worthless in any country. Its sad that republicans have to continue lying to run from the fact that we are our brothers keeper. And they also run from the fact that someday the Health Care providers they so aggressively support will turn on them

Activist Wannabe Republicans

04 Aug

This morning, Politico reported that Democratic members of Congress are increasingly being harassed by “angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior” at local town halls. For example, in one incident, right-wing protesters surrounded Rep. Tim Bishop (D-NY) and forced police officers to have to escort him to his car for safety.

This growing phenomenon is often marked by violence and absurdity. Recently, right-wing demonstrators hung Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-MD) in effigy outside of his office. Missing from the reporting of these stories is the fact that much of these protests are coordinated by public relations firms and lobbyists who have a stake in opposing President Obama’s reforms.

The lobbyist-run groups Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks, which orchestrated the anti-Obama tea parties earlier this year, are now pursuing an aggressive strategy to create an image of mass public opposition to health care and clean energy reform. A leaked memo from Bob MacGuffie, a volunteer with the FreedomWorks website Tea Party Patriots, details how members should be infiltrating town halls and harassing Democratic members of Congress:

Tea Bagger Memo

– Artificially Inflate Your Numbers: “Spread out in the hall and try to be in the front half. The objective is to put the Rep on the defensive with your questions and follow-up. The Rep should be made to feel that a majority, and if not, a significant portion of at least the audience, opposes the socialist agenda of Washington.”

– Be Disruptive Early And Often: “You need to rock-the-boat early in the Rep’s presentation, Watch for an opportunity to yell out and challenge the Rep’s statements early.”

– Try To “Rattle Him,” Not Have An Intelligent Debate: “The goal is to rattle him, get him off his prepared script and agenda. If he says something outrageous, stand up and shout out and sit right back down. Look for these opportunities before he even takes questions.”

Sarah Palin, A New Comedy Act?

06 Jul

One has to wonder if Sarah Palin isn’t trying to take over Al Franken’s spot in the comedy world.

She was pretty well out of the public eye by being silent and just doing her job until she popped up and decided to quit her position as governor. At which time and part she blamed the media because it was picking on her.

I cannot and will not question her feelings towards Alaska. Nor will I question her accomplishments as governor of Alaska. And quite frankly as far as I’m concerned what her family does is absolutely no concern of mine. Illegitimate babies, infighting, are all family manners and none of my business.

For her the beginning started when John McCain picked her to be his running mate. Despite the fact that many Republicans groaned, he did it anyways. For him, the need to have a token woman was stronger than his desire to win the election.

Al Franken Or Next President?

Al Franken Or Next President?

Let’s face it this is politics and you at least need someone who’s face is recognizable to run with you. But because of the fact that Hillary Clinton ran he thought he could make political hay with choosing a woman. And as it turned out, just any woman. If that as far as I’m concerned, this showed the weakness of John McCain and his inability to make the right decisions. How could this man ever be president?

She was just about the last person anyone could ever dream of picking. While the Republican Hitler youth went insane over her being appointed second-in-command her total lack of experience and knowledge was constantly exposed. And that is where it started for the press. She was little more than a cartoon character who was an aside to John McCain’s solid portfolio of political history.

Sarah Palin should have known that she was not qualified for this position. If you want to be a politician you have to know when to get past being flattered and being intelligent. It is apparent that she never got past the being flattered part and moved right into being fluttered. She assigned to her self-importance a position that was not deserved. She walked right in to a situation that set her up for where she is today.

Cheney At A Glance

12 May

I am getting a huge laugh over the Cheney backing of Rush Limpbat.

Cheney has the credibility of roadkill.  This is the man behind the presidency who is 50% of the reason that people did not vote Republican in the last election.  This is the man known as Dr. Strangelove in a wheelchair who obviously wears a glove to keep it clean when he had his hand up George Bush’s ass.

Darth Cheney is now accusing Colin Powell of not being a Republican.  The Man who would be kingWhen he was acting president he did everything he could to prove to the American public that under no circumstances will see a conservative or quite frankly a Republican.  This is what happens when a person like Colin Powell, who commands respect due to his history and his accomplishments, speaks his mind without taking the party line.

It appears if you’re in the Republican Party and you don’t take the party line that neither Mr. Cheney or Rush Limbaugh will attack you.  Neither person is a fair assessment of a Republican or a conservative.
