Sarah Palin The Dems Best Friend

08 Feb

Sarah Palin is turning into the Democrat’s best friend.

The things that she is saying do not make a bit of sense. First she wants, or tries to intimidate that she wants Pres. Obama to go to war with Iran to protect Israel. I certainly hope that that’s part of her campaign which he runs for office because it’s apparent that she doesn’t realize that a war platform is not the right platform in these times. The United States supports Israel and Obama has sworn to protect them. Why she is saying the things she is saying is just totally not understandable.

In a time when she is talking about smaller government and less taxes, she is now stating she wants war. Simply to protect Israel. She wants to spend another trillion taking over the Iranian government yet she will not spend that same amount of money for Americans. Nor does she seem to understand that going to war with Iran is going to cost a great deal of money which means taxes will have to be raised. This is the Republican Party for you.

There will never be a time again in our history when we will see smaller government. And no matter which party is in office they will continue to spend in order to please the people. And they will continue to raise taxes no matter what platform they run on. We have to pay for the spending of the Republicans during the Bush term and we will be spending for the Democrats and the Obama term in our future. Someone seems to have forgotten that with the amount of people out of work all revenues are considerably smaller. And that is why it is so funny that the tea party people and Sarah Palin are pandering about talking about less taxes.

What got the Dems elected?  War and the total lack of truth.  She has about as much chance of getting elected as I do.

In other news from the tea party, former Sen. Tom Tancredo called for the return of a civics test to prove that you are good enough to vote in the United States elections. This is the same type of test that Like people from voting for over 70 years, in the same type of thing that Lyndon Johnson tried to do away with. It’s bad enough that Tancredo came up with that subject, even worse than you receive a warm welcome from the tea party audience. Proving to me that this is more of a racist organization that it is political.

The tea partiers talk about less government and less taxes, but during the upcoming elections when they are asked how the war and TARP bailouts will be paid for they will have no answer other than the fact that we should not elect a Pres. Obama because people voted who shouldn’t have been voting. They will have no answers other than to stand on the stage and say we should have less government and less taxes.

Back Taxes?

19 Mar

We now are finding a plethora of not only potential administration candidates being behind in their taxes but also large corporations as well.

These are the same corporations that are receiving bailout money from our taxes. Not only from our taxes but I am sure from borrowed money and the interest on that borrowing that we pay through our taxes as well.

From Yahoo news.

WASHINGTON – At least 13 firms receiving billions of dollars in bailout money owe a total of more than $220 million in unpaid federal taxes, a key lawmaker said Thursday.

Rep. John Lewis, chairman of a House subcommittee overseeing the federal bailout, said two firms owe more than $100 million apiece.

“This is shameful. It is a disgrace,” said Lewis, D-Ga. “We are going to get to the bottom of what is going on here.”

The House Ways and Means subcommittee on oversight discovered the unpaid taxes in a review of tax records from 23 of the firms receiving the most money, Lewis said as he opened a hearing on the issue.

The committee said it could not legally release the names of those companies owing taxes. It said one recipient had almost $113 million in unpaid federal income taxes from 2005 and 2006. A second recipient owed almost $102 million dating to before 2004. Another was behind $1.1 million in federal income taxes and $223,000 in federal employment taxes.

“If we looked at all 470 recipients, how much would they owe?” Lewis asked.

Banks and other firms receiving federal money were required to sign contracts stating they had no unpaid taxes, Lewis said. But he said the Treasury Department did not ask them to turn over their tax records.

Neil Barofsky, special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, told the hearing that if an executive signed a contract knowing that information about unpaid taxes was false, “that would potentially be a crime.” He said his office will look to see if crimes were committed.

More Republican Mistakes?

09 Feb

Just when you thought it was safe to go outside we have news of another Republican this seemingly having problems.  Michael Steele who is the new Republican national convention chairman is being investigated somewhat lightly for payments to a apparently defunct company.

At issue is a February 2007 payment of more than $37,000 made by Steele’s unsuccessful Senate campaign to Brown Sugar Unlimited, a company run by Monica Turner, Steele’s sister (and also the former Mrs. Mike Tyson, incidentally).

According to campaign finance records, reports the Post, the payments were for “catering/web services.” But a Steele spokesman told the paper that Turner “did a lot of media stuff” for the campaign. The spokesman then showed the paper an invoice for catering services for two events. But the invoice was dated December 2006, although the events occurred in October 2006 and July 2007. The spokesman attributed this to a typo.

So, was it media, web services, or catering? How many companies do all three?

I would ask the same question, media Web services or catering? Michael Steele has already proven through his comments that he is there to define the Democratic Party and to not promote a system of bipartisanship. I think the guy is just there To act tough and to get in with the idea that in today’s political party you must have a woman and a black man to Be viable. While I do not know Michael Steele’s qualifications for the position it is obvious that his election bring tokenism to a new high. Of course the person who is favored for the position fell out of favor with his Barack the magic Negro recording.
