As we travel through our celestial exploration of the signs and their relationship potential, we come to Taurus. Loyal, pragmatic, and often sensitive, Taureans sometimes have a hard time in their personal relationships. They feel they should be understood, but so often feel taken for granted or ignored. So, beginning with the Aries-Taurus cusp, we’re examining Taurus: love and relationships week-by-week.
Aries-Taurus Cusp April 19-24
The energy of the ram and the stoical nature of the bull meet in one person. It’s an interesting and extremely powerful combination. People born on the Aries-Taurus cusp are almost irresistible when it comes to persuading others. This gives them the edge when dealing with coworkers… it’s also a factor in their personal lives. They have a certain charisma which is centered around their fierce independence.
Anyone who is attracted to an Aries-Taurus cusper, will discover that it’s better to let them think they chose you, rather than you pursuing them. They like to be in control. However, if you are clever you can easily make them believe that they are the ones driving the relationship forward. Should the relationship not work, the Aries-Taurus will do their utmost to get it back on track, hating the thought of giving up and admitting they failed or made a mistake in their choice of partner.
People born on the cusp are generous and forgiving. They love to treat their loved ones, and because they work hard and usually make decent money, they can afford to be lavish. However, if they feel unappreciated, they will withdraw their financial support and the gifts will cease. One thing they hate is having their partner support them financially. It’s a blow to their pride and sense of independence. They prefer to be the giver and provider than being on the receiving end. Accepting help is a life-lesson they might need to learn. Aries-Taurus cuspers need to understand that to have a loving relationship, they must accede some of their power. That a rewarding relationship is a two-way communication. And that cooperation trumps control. By doing this they’ll discover that true power lies in a mutual, sharing relationship.
Taurus 1 April 25th-May 2
The best way to describe Taurus 1s is ‘resolute’. They will not be distracted or dissuaded once they have their heart and mind set on achieving a goal. A love of order and structure dominates their character, and that applies to relationships as well as other aspects of their lives. Taurus 1s do not embrace change with enthusiasm.
They get on well with others, though they prefer to take the dominating, protective role. This can make them great to work for until you challenge their ideas or their way of doing things. And, of course, this intractability suffuses their personal relationships. They cannot help but take any challenge as a personal affront.
Those who fall in love with a Taurus 1 can expect a deep and loving relationship. It’s important to know that gentle persuasion will always work much better than an outright confrontation. You can never win a fight with a Taurus 1.
The main issues in their relationships is the Taurus 1’s resistance to change and their tendency toward laziness. Whether it’s a practical maintenance task which requires attention, or an aspect of the relationship that needs a little tweaking, Taurus 1’s reluctance to engage may be a problem. They can happily live in denial that their home and family is falling apart around them. Obviously, partners get disheartened and bored with such a situation and often Taurus 1 doesn’t realize what’s going on until their partner packs their bags and leaves. Having said that, when Taurus 1 recognizes and overcomes their natural tendency to ignore problems they’d rather not deal with, they can create a wonderfully loving and generous relationship.
Taurus 2 May 3-10
Taurus 2 has a natural curiosity about people. They like to know how others live, and are concerned whether people are treated fairly by society. Never hesitant about sharing their opinions, they can come across as demanding and critical. Yet, as they grow older they become more comfortable with themselves and understand that they can only do what they can do. That making small changes can be as effective as one huge campaign. Their forte lies in their ability to learn as they teach. They are good communicators and, if they are able to hold back their critical side, they make excellent educators.
In their personal relationships Taurus 2 sets high standards for their mates. If you fall for a Taurus 2, you have to learn that there is a certain way of dealing with them. That there are good times to broach subjects and really, really bad times.
Taurus 2 likes to know their partner is putting the same effort into the relationship as they are. They want to see each of their own contributions matched by their lover. Having a partner who is their intellectual equal, and who is capable of matching them verbally and physically is the key to happiness for Taurus 2. One thing they do not like is weakness. Never plead with a Taurus 2. Even if they don’t show it at first, their disdain and distrust will become apparent. They require their partners to be strong and dignified… just like they are themselves.
Taurus 3 May 11-18
Taurus 3s are the most light-hearted of all the Taurean family. They are spirited and determined, yet just as stubborn. They are individualistic creators with imaginations that soar into fantastical realms. Very often they get bullied or ridiculed by their peers which can cause great hurt to their sensitive natures. Yet, these early issues may be the making of them.
In relationships, the main problem is the need to balance their imagination and impulsiveness with their requirement for stability and security. Like all Taureans, Taurus 3 must keep their feet on the ground in order to replenish that essential earth energy. So they need a partner who can keep them grounded yet at the same time encourage their creativity.
There is a risk that in their personal relationship, Taurus 3 begins to see their partner as an adversary. This happens because of the conflicting qualities of stability and impulsiveness. It’s as if their partner can’t win. If they work to promote groundedness and security, they can be accused of oppression. If they take a ‘go with the flow’ attitude, Taurus 3 will argue that they don’t care. As in everything, look for the balance. Flexibility and constant adjustment to each other’s needs is so important. A relationship with a Taurus 3 is never boring.
Next time, we’ll be starting with Taurus-Gemini cusp.
